Persuasive Argument

Honorary judge and jury I present that my client Mr. Hyde or better known as Dr. Jekyll is tested to be innocent in order of the law. As many people know that due to Mr. Hyde's mental illness he had no control over his actions. If anyone is to be blamed it has to be Dr. Jekyll, even though they are the same person Hyde was Jekyll's imagination to do wrong turned into reality. At one point neither of the men had full power of their minds. However, the the main cause of this experiment was to to do wrong but to help in scientific discoveries. But, the outcome turned out to take the life of many innocent bystanders. In my defense I wouldn't say that the murders were all Mr. Hyde's fault. He only took partial credit............ because for instance a fire won't happen until something or "someone," actually and physically go and start or be the cause of the fire. There is a starting point of all problems, everyone intends to do good to the world, but not all succeed. Similarly, I am sure that something or someone irritated Hyde and this went to extend that Hyde broke out in a rage. The causes good be that his appearance was harming to the eye or also the reason can be that people couldn't accept him or his relationship with Jekyll. Many people have heard that science can change not the world but the people who live inside of the world. All in all, I feel all justice in my client's actions and reactions due to his state of mind. Here after if you feel that my interpretations and arguments are reported false please don't hesitate to leave comments.

Character/Theme

The character that I am most interested about knowing is Mr। Hyde because he has this mysterious feeling behind him. Since, Mr. Hyde is described as short and as a monstrous creature he makes me wonder can people like than actually exist? Also, how did Mr. Hyde become like he is now? At of all the characters this character sticks out the most the most to me while reading.

The themes that best fit Mr। Hyde are society and appearance। For example, when Mr। Hyde ran over the little girl and the family threatened his reputation। This showed that compared to one's status level, their prestige and reputation is more important in society। In some way, Mr. Hyde represents the poverty class during that time frame and how the poverty class was trying to gain control by rebelling. The reason this thought came to my find was because Mr. Hyde is short, and the poverty class is really low in the line of people, and when Mr. Hyde hurts people it shows how the class is unhappy with what they have. Appearance was a really important theme during this time. Such as, displayed in this character. During, this time period one's personality was determined by one's appearance. Like, if someone was scary or odd looking many people would ignore them or think them to be a bad nature. This applies to Mr. Hyde really well, because anyone who takes a look at Mr. Hyde is scared even before he attempts to say anything. Maybe this is many of the reasons Mr. Hyde gets angry and can't control his behaviors. This can also be a theme for human nature describing how common people interpenetrated certain things back then.

"Story of the Door"

In the first chapter "Story of the Door" their were many interesting details described throughout the novel. However, the part that stuck out the most to me, was when Mr. Hyde completely ignores that he trampled on the girl then goes back and tries giving the parents money. Through, this I can't figure out if Mr. Hyde is a sincere man or he is manipulating everyone to save his threatened prestige?

Moreover, the really unique part was when Mr.Hyde gave them the check and he stayed until the next morning to cash the check in. When he handed the slip in shockingly his check was accepted and the signature was not of his, but of Dr. Jekyll. Is there a link between Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

The small article I read which you can read about in my previous posts describe a balance between good and evil. That if evil does exist in this world then good needs to act as its counterpart. This very much applies to Mr. Hyde since in a second he is knocking a girl over with out realizing then few minutes later like mentioned he is trying to atone for his actions Thus, there are mixed personalities in this unique character Mr. Hyde were he is stuck in middle of good and evil. T o learn more about good and evil, read my earlier posts which vividly displays my reactions and feels about this this topic. Throughout, this part of the text I have learned the post important theme for people living during those days. Which is that in order to have value in the society money and occupation is important, however one's reputation is more valuable. In addition, any person can do anything during does times to save their reputation such as Mr. Hyde properly shows.
